eCar insurance in security breach

The Brightside Group - manager of several motor insurance websites, including eCar insurance - has identified that there was breach in its security system on 29 September. However, "the company confirms that there's no evidence that any personal information was obtained by the perpetrator," the firm told the BBC. The eCar insurance website has been taken offline as a precaution. Some customers have also been notified via email of the breach. The Brightside Group has directed custor inquiries to 03332 224561 or enquiries@ecarinsurance.co.uk. In its email to customers, the firm said: "Data security is of the utmost importance to us, and we are reviewing the site to ensure we have the most robust and rigorous security processes in place."
